Habitat Restoration & Infrastructure Services
IO Environmental & Infrastructure, Inc (IOEI) provides our clients with experienced personnel knowledgeable in a broad range of construction and restoration services. We work with our clients to develop and implement cost effective and innovative solutions to a broad range of construction project success.
IOEI has performed a wide variety of heavy civil, infrastructure, and habitat restoration projects throughout the western United States. Since 2016, IOEI has been proud to support NAVFAC SW’s mission on the incumbent Natural Resource Habitat Enhancement MASC contract, executing 41 task orders (TOs) valued at $13.4M. Area of work included Navy Installations throughout Arizona, California, and Nevada. IOEI Successfully performed this work while enhancing environments, both built and natural, while providing excellent project management and client services.
IOEI was honored as the 2017 Veteran- Owned Small Business of the Year by the Small Business Association and was listed among the top 100 inner-city firms by Fortune Magazine in 2015. Our experience includes award-winning habitat restoration projects, including the Del Mar Fairgrounds Saltmarsh Restoration and the San Diego River Trail Walker Preserve, which was honored as the American Society of Civil Engineers Project of the Year. 22nd DAA Del Mar Fairgrounds – Salt Marsh Restoration
lOEI was contracted by the 22nd District Agricultural Association and Del Mar Fairgrounds to restore approximately 6 acres of parking lot to a functioning salt marsh in Del Mar, Califomia. This $1.2M five-year restoration originally called for the excavation and subsequent offsite disposal of over 18,000 tons of native soils.
San Diego River Trail, Walker Preserve
IO Environmental & Infrastructure (IOEI) constructed approx. 1.3 miles of trails along the San Diego River on the Walker Preserve. This $1.8M project included installation of 3800 tons of stabilized decomposed granite on walkways.

Maury Island Open Space Remediation: Phase 01 – Trails

King County Parks began the cleanup of contaminated soil in the Maury Island Natural Area the week of September 16. This cleanup is mandated by an Agreed Order with the Washington Department of Ecology. This first phase of the project is expected to last into December 2019.
IO Environmental and Infrastructure (IOEI), a contractor with US Forest Service trail building experience, is capping contaminated backcountry trails with three inches of gravel topped with three inches of soil.

IOEI was recently awarded the contract to restore over four acres of
land located in the Del Mar Fairgrounds, to native salt marsh. This
$1.5M project will include the grading and redistribution of over 18,000
tons of soil from areas formerly used as parking lots and ruderal fill,
removal of non-native plant species, and the replanting and
establishment of native plant species and habitats creating a natural
salt marsh and lagoon as part of the San Dieguito lagoon.
